the Environment

Investing Today for
a Better Tomorrow

At Youngone, being socially and environmentally responsible has always been one of our core business principles since the foundation of the company more than 50 years ago.

As a key player within the manufacturing industry, Youngone believes that it has a leadership role to play in environmental sustainability. It is thus essential for us to set our own environmental sustainability goals taking into account related expectations of our stakeholders.

KEY TO OUR EFFORTS:

Accountability

We track the results of our work and collaborate with external parties to ensure we make progress against the objectives we set.

Communication

We engage and communicate with our stakeholders, employees and subject matter experts on environmental sustainability issues which are material to our businesses.

Continuous Improvement

In the pursuit of excellence, we always benchmark ourselves with the relevant world-class standards.

At Youngone we understand the impact of energy efficiency and the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

We apply international accounting methodology to measure and report our purchase and use of energy. We use a science-based approach to set goals on energy efficiency and GHG reduction.

We prioritize sourcing of sustainable materials and equipment with a better life cycle value, understanding the importance of decarbonization by maximizing the use of technologies and renewable energy.

Minimizing
Pollution

Youngone is committed to reducing and managing waste effectively in our daily operations across the globe. We will maintain waste management requirements that meet or exceed applicable legal requirements, and work to integrate best practices of the industry into our operations and services wherever possible.

Youngone supports the use of recycled or up-cycled materials in our businesses. We believe waste is not just the natural output at the end of the product life cycle, but is also possibly the input for another circular economy.

Revitalizing Natural
Places

Bangladesh – KEPZ (Korean Export Processing Zone)

The barren land has been transformed into 2,500 acres of green space with reforestation, and 25 lakes, and reservoirs. The reforestation project has resulted in the planting of more than 2.5million trees and a habitat for over 400 species. The artificial lakes and reservoirs have enriched the agriculture, supported nearby village communities, and rehabilitated 137 species of birds.
