During the recent 20th anniversary celebrations for Youngone Nam Dinh, Chairman Kihak Sung highlighted one of the most significant milestones in the company’s time in Vietnam.
In 2012, to commemorate the 750th anniversary of ‘Thien Truong’, a special memorial stone was erected on the grounds of Youngone’s Nam Dinh facilities.
This distinct honor recognized that Youngone has become one of the largest foreign-invested enterprises in Nam Dinh province. In addition to revitalizing the area by creating jobs, improving workers’ lives and contributing to the province’s economic restructuring, Youngone has become an integral part of the local community.
In Spring of 1262, after a 37-year reign, King Tran Thai Tong, whose birthplace was Tuc Mac Village (now My Loc district of Nam Dinh), commissioned the construction of a royal complex and temple to worship ancestors, all of which were upgraded into the ‘Thien Truong Palace’ complex.
Over the past 750 years, despite many changes in boundaries and names, Thien Truong – Nam Dinh still retains its role as the cultural and economic center of the region. In addition to its importance in the country’s political history, the area has also been famed for its talented people and learning traditions.
“We are incredibly grateful that the people of Nam Dinh have welcomed us so warmly and we are deeply honored to have this important historic landmark on our grounds. We are proud to have helped regenerate the local economy, and Youngone is fully committed to the continued growth and development of our business in Vietnam,” said Chairman Kihak Sung.
