On December 7 Youngone Nam Dinh Ltd. (YNL) in Vietnam celebrated its 20th anniversary. More than 300 dignitaries and guests attended the gala event, including 21 high-ranking Vietnamese officials.
In his keynote address, Chairman Kihak Sung praised the hard work and dedication of all staff in making Vietnam the company’s second largest production base, generating around one-third of global revenues for Youngone Corporation. He also thanked the Government officials of Nam Dinh who have provided tremendous support and assistance to Youngone over the past twenty years.
“Nam Dinh had a proud history in making textiles and garments many, many years ago. But when we first came here in 2004, we had to start from scratch to build our factories, develop the infrastructure and train the staff,” Mr. Sung said. “At the beginning, we brought dozens of management staff from Bangladesh to help accelerate the training and development of staff here. And now, I am incredibly proud that YNL has become one of the finest garment factories in the world,” Mr. Sung added.
YNL now employs nearly 9,000 staff and is the largest of three factories in Northern Vietnam, where the total workforce has risen to over 20,000. Youngone’s newest factory, Broadpeak Soc Trang Ltd. (BSL), opened in 2017 in Southern Vietnam and is the company’s largest producer of bags and backpacks for many of the world’s leading sports and outdoor brands.
Guests were treated to traditional Vietnamese and Korean music and dance performances.
